The basics of using this site and requesting an estimate.

Last updated: October 2026

Estimates

Prices on this site are 2026 ranges for the Sioux Falls area so you can budget. The price you pay is the written, itemized estimate you receive after an on-site look, and it's good for the period stated on it (normally 30 days). An estimate is not a contract until you sign it.

Who does the work

Tree work arranged through this site is performed by independent crews that hold the City of Sioux Falls arborist's license required for paid tree work in the city and carry general liability and workers' compensation insurance. Certificates are available before work begins.

Timing, permits and wood

Ash work is scheduled outside the Memorial Day to Labor Day window the City recommends, except for emergencies. We request the City's street-tree permits when they apply and call South Dakota One Call (811) before stump grinding or planting. Ash wood and all hardwood firewood stay inside South Dakota's EAB quarantine counties.

Payment

No deposit is due until you've approved the written price and the work is scheduled. Most residential work is paid on completion.

Website

The content on this site is general information about trees and the rules that apply to them in the Sioux Falls area. It is not a tree risk assessment, an arborist's opinion on your specific tree, or legal advice. Ordinances, fees and quarantine rules change; the City's and the state's current documents govern.
